How Does Chaos Possibly Bring Opportunity?

Someone once asked me, “Where is the opportunity in chaos?” Do you know what my answer is? There is opportunity all around!
When something triggers you while you’re in that comfort zone, something from the outside, your mind begins to venture outside what its normal limits are. And this will trigger something that I call a survival mode, a different mindset that makes you have to think bigger than what you are used to. What you are used to is just not going to work during this period of chaos.
Say something is happening, like your apartment building is for sale and the property is switching hands and the old owners are not handling it anymore. Now you’re going to have to get a new home. You begin to panic, “Where am I going to go?! What’s going to happen?!” It forces you to think differently.
Chaos is an opportunity to better your life! Because it not only forces you to think about what you want to do differently in your life, but it also forces you to think about what you DON’T want anymore, which you don’t have to bring forward. And sometimes there are things you need to get rid of in your life to become the person you were meant to be. Chaos allows you to let go of the things that you need to let go of, things that you’ve been holding on to so tightly because you have been so afraid to see what will happen if you got rid of this object or this career or even this person!
You need to let go of what’s holding you back in order to let new things grow. New beginnings, that’s what chaos brings us. It gives you every opportunity in the world to do something different. And if there was ever an opportunity to change your life, it’s now. You have all the means to do it and all the reasons why. Because the whole world, at this moment, is going through a pandemic and we’re up against these things that no one else has faced before. But, it does make us think outside the box, outside our comfort zone.
That’s why I think what’s coming to our “new” world has every chance to be amazing! We have the opportunity to build it the way we want to, the right way. It truly is a season of reset, of pruning, and of opportunity. It is our opportunity and our choice to do it.
I always say, the comfort zone is right in front of you, that you are currently living in it – but the amazing things are right outside. So when chaos comes into your perfect world and it pushes you out, where do you go? To the amazing opportunities, you can only see once you’re outside of it!
